The South African Black Women Think Tank

SABWTT

About Us

SABWTT (Pty) Ltd which is short for South African Black Women Think Tank is the country's first black women-centric and led Think Tank designed by township-based black women entrepreneurs for other township-based black women entrepreneurs to serve as a powerhouse of knowledge and expertise that acts as a driving force to spearhead the empowerment of entrepreneurial development and growth for township-based black women entrepreneurs whose businesses are in the existence and survival stage of their business lifecycle from across the townships of South Africa.

Our mission aims to support black women entrepreneurs operating in townships whose businesses are in the existence and survival phases of their lifecycle, propelling them towards success and take-off. This objective is achieved by developing and leveraging local research data and insights to establish growth-oriented systems and make recommendations for flexible policy regulation approaches that consider the unique characteristics and contexts of township-based black women entrepreneurs and the so-called informal economy.

Our contribution to transformation

Developing localised research with practical value, focusing on creating systems capable of managing growth and implementing innovative and adaptable policy regulations, rather than solely emphasising academic merit.

Establishing the nation's inaugural Institute for Black Women Entrepreneurs, designed to function as a local hub focused on fostering the education, training, and advancement of black women entrepreneurs within the townships of South Africa.

Collaborate with both public and private entities, as well as local communities, to foster discussions and promote the significance of research data in crafting innovative solutions.
